News and Commentary for November 3

I can only imagine the uproar in the press, and in Hollywood, if President Bush had said this. “The claim by the commander-in-chief is as indisputable as it is grim.” Last Year President Obama Reportedly Told His Aides That He’s ‘Really Good At Killing People’

Disaster of their own making. “Whether this law will continue to pass judicial scrutiny remains to be seen, but what is obvious at this early date is that the press and the public figures who promoted it are lying low as the tsunami of voter rage builds.” The Silence of the Left

Reverse racism. “Meet the new Soccer Mom: Obamacare losers. Millions of married, older, white, college-educated, GOP-leaning Americans have quickly seen their political profile rise after their health insurance companies sent them cancellation letters with the launch of the giant new health care law.” Obamacare losers could pack political punch

Behemoth. “Were Congress to enact legislation legalizing illegal aliens and/or the federal government were to succeed in getting more of the eligible people to enroll in Medicaid, the percentage of people in the United States enrolled in government-run health care could increase beyond 43 percent without changing the terms of Obamacare.” Single Payer: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Will Provide 43% of All Health Insurance in 2014

FORCE. “She did not recognize that the payments are inadequate to cover the doctors’ costs.  She also did not recognize there is a shortage of over 45,000 physicians now and that it is forecast to be 90,000 in a few years.” Virginia Democrat Calls For Forcing Doctors To Accept Medicare And Medicaid Patients

Trust. “The president’s violating his promise — “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it” — is having serious implications not only domestically, but on the world scene as well.” The Global Impact of the Obamacare Lie

Politics over what’s best for the country and its people. “For weeks that spring, a tug of war played out inside the White House, according to five people familiar with the episode.” HealthCare.gov: How political fear was pitted against technical needs

The power of the state continues to get more powerful. “When exactly did the West stop referring to itself as the “Free World”?” Trusting the state is costing us our freedom

I think I will be feeling just a tad bit rebellious just in time for next Halloween! “Next Halloween we should all don Obama masks.” The Perils of Wearing an Obama Mask?

More on the power of the state. “Big Brother is not only watching you.  He is eavesdropping on you, stealing  your metadata, snooping in your email and telling you what to eat and which illnesses you can treat if you’re lucky enough to see a doctor once  Obamacare is implemented.” Obama’s 1984

The watchers are everywhere and it’s only going to get worse. “Fox News correspondent Jim Angle described what happened when he reached out to the Obamacare call center.” ‘How did they know?’ Jim Angle shares disturbing experience with Obamacare 800 number

I am surprised Yahoo Finance allowed this article past their Obama gatekeepers. “President Obama calls them “substandard” insurance plans. But to many of the people who bought individual insurance policies that are now being canceled under the Affordable Care Act, their choice of insurance was a prudent decision that met their needs at a price that will be hard to beat under the ACA.” Health Care Shoppers Aren’t as Dumb as Obama Thinks

The blame game. “The Obama administration is clearly in full-defense mode over the rolling disaster of ObamaCare, and it is making every effort to deflect criticism to others.  But the deflections won’t hold because they are not based on fact.” As Obamacare Takes On Water, The Electorate Wakes Up To Its Horrors

Correcting the record. “No, it was never intended to be an “insurance” program.” The Social Security Fable

Common Core should be appalling to folks of all political stripes. “This has become a fight largely between concerned citizens and parents on one side, with Big Business, Big Government, and a cadre of establishment billionaires like Bill Gates on the other.” Common Core: People vs. Big Government, Big Business, and Billionaires

Do as your told! After all, the government ALWAYS knows best don’t you know.” So third graders are learning: it is the President’s job to make everything fair; the people must obey the commands of government officials; the individual’s wants are less important than the nation’s well-being.” Common Core Indoctrination: “The People Must Obey The Government’s Commands”

Spreading Islamic propaganda in the United States. “El Watan, one of Egypt’s most widely circulated and read newspapers, has published a report discussing the Muslim Brotherhood’s influence over the United States, especially in the context of inciting pro-Brotherhood policies against Egypt’s popular June 30 Revolution, which resulted in the ousting of Muhammad Morsi and the Brotherhood from power.” Exposed: Names and Identities of Muslim Brotherhood Operatives in U.S.

We’re from the government and we always know what’s best for you. “Under socialism, there’s no such thing as consumer protection. When Fraud Is Legal

An epic battle this way comes. “Three unrepentant veterans of the shutdown brawl say they’re eager for primary election fights with a goal of remaking the GOP.” The Tea Party Battles to Come

NFRW Region 3 Conference a Grand Success: High Profile Speakers, Including Governor Susana Martinez of New Mexico, Bring Messages of Hope and Positive Action to the Ladies of NFRW!

Here is a full report of the NFRW Regional 3 conference held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from April 26 to 27 as submitted by Cheryl Pelletier.

The NFRW Regional 3 conference was held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joan Lang, Anita Rodriguez, Nancy Pryor and I traveled by car.  Joan drove. We met up with Roberta in Albuquerque as she used this opportunity to visit with her sister, and attend the conference.

Once we checked in and settled ourselves into our rooms, we headed down to the Mariachis and Margaritas cocktail mixer where we greeted old friends, and started new friendships.

Growing Our Clubs

Saturday morning, the approximately 80 plus women (and some men) in attendance convened for breakfast and a morning packed full of amazing speakers disseminating enlightening information.

Lynne Hartung, NFRW Membership Chair, shared with us suggestions on how to more effectively utilize our newsletters, meeting announcements, websites, club brochures, renewal letters, business cards, and social media, including Facebook to grow our membership base.

Patt Parker, NFRW Public Relations Chair, spoke about how, at the national level, NFRW is striving for excellence. She shared with us the results of a recent “Pulse Points” survey intended to glean information about how the organization is doing in the eyes of its current and former members.

For those of us interested in growing PVRW, Patt shared one extremely enlightening statistic. Of the 2,856 who responded to the survey, 41.4 percent joined NFRW because they were introduced to the organization by a friend.  So ladies, continue to invite your friends. Doing so will help us to become the largest group in Arizona!

Stomping Out Voter Fraud, Reclaiming the American Dream, Messaging to Women and Keeping Arizona Red

The highlight of the conference involved our high-profile speakers. Saturday morning, we were privileged to hear from John Fund, prolific author, frequent commentator on television as well as the National Affairs columnist for the National Review magazine, Congressman Chris Stewart of Utah, Laura Carno, founder of IAmCreatedEqual.com, and our own AMAZING Robert Graham, AZGOP Chair.

Stomping Out Voter Fraud

First up was John Fund who regaled us with tales of what’s wrong with Washington DC (like we didn’t know, but it was still interesting to hear from someone on the inside!). Mr. Fund spoke most passionately, about voter fraud and how it is severely endangering our republic. To learn more about the very real problem of voter fraud within the United States, check out his most recent book entitled Who’s Counting: How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote At Risk. You will be shocked, but better informed, and in a better position to help do something about this very real problem!

Reclaiming the American Dream

Chris Stewart, Congressman from Utah, spoke to us about reclaiming the American dream. He reminded us that although Republicans may not be successful 100 percent of the time, we have the obligation to remain faithful to ourselves and faithful to what the conservative narrative represents. He also warned us about President Obama’s ultimate intent for 2014: to take back the House. We must all do whatever we can to ensure that this does not happen! The House is the only firewall preventing the Democrats from growing the government even more.

Messaging to Women

Laura Carno, gave up a career in banking to establish I Am Created Equal.com, an organization committed to helping women to understand the ramifications of big government in our daily lives.  According to Ms. Carno, women of the current generation seem to be okay with government telling them what to do and we must counteract this dependency with our own words of independence! She explained how it is important that those of us on the Right must take the Left’s language and use it against them. For more information about this cutting edge organization, visit IAmCreatedEqual.com, or contact Ms. Carno at Laura@IAmCreatedEqual.com. You can also follow her on Twitter at @AmEqual and Like her on Facebook at IAmCreatedEqual.

Keeping Arizona Red

The rock star of Saturday morning was our very own Robert Graham, chairman of the Arizona Republican party. Mr. Graham absolutely wowed each and every one in the audience with his plans for our state party. He talked about fundraising, strengthening our party at the grass-roots level, reaching out to minorities within our state, and how he intends to utilize all that social networking has to offer in order to get out the vote for our side. You really must see his presentation, so PLEASE plan to attend our next PVRW luncheon to be held on Wednesday, May 22nd.

A Rock Star within the Republican Party: Governor Susana Martinez

Just like she did when she spoke at the 2012 Republican National Convention, Governor Susana Martinez blew us away! She truly is a rock star within our party. In the words of Joan Lang writing to us on our website, “Ladies, she is fantastic, and beautiful, too!” And that is the honest to goodness truth.

Governor Martinez joined us for dinner, and then spoke to us about how her leadership is helping to make New Mexico more competitive in job creation, and creating a brighter future for New Mexico’s children and families.  Under her leadership, jobs are coming to New Mexico, and school graduation rates are improving.
