Stories of the Day
It can’t come soon enough. “Let’s get one thing straight. Fixing Washington requires someone who understands Washington. I’ve been inside the bureaucracies and know how the entrenched bureaucrats can hoodwink even the most zealous overseer. Utilizing someone who understands their language and has tangled with them will be the only way to make progress. It takes an outsider who understands the language and tricks. Not all outsiders need apply.
So what’s up next for the revolution? Some accounts say Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is on deck. One thing seems likely: the revolution will play a central role in picking the next Republican nominee. The establishment GOP needs the revolution far more than the revolution needs the establishment GOP.” The Revolution Has Begun: Democrats shouldn’t take glee in Boehner’s ousting: the revolution is done messing around, and they are next.
We can only hope and pray. This… “The party has looked unified compared to the fractious Republican presidential field, but contentious issues—like increasing crime—are starting to tear it apart.” And this… It was crime more than any other single issue that drove blue-collar voters in the industrial states from the party of Truman and Johnson to the party of Nixon and Reagan.” The Coming Democratic Crack-Up
It is worse than we thought. “The Weekly Standard’s Mark Hemingway reports that Blumenthal’s operation employed a former top CIA official, Tyler Drumheller, to supply intelligence for the secretary of state at the same time he worked as a paid consultant to CBS News — acting as a “consultant” just as the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi broke.
Hemingway dug, and he found multiple CBS employees who said that Drumheller had a key role in shaping the network’s coverage, quite contrary to what the CBS public relations office told him.
That information would explain the mainstream media’s dereliction of duty in its Benghazi coverage. At the time, the press seemed so concerned about getting President Obama re-elected that it ignored news about his administration’s failure to spot the terrorist operations around U.S. diplomatic compounds, and then tried to cover them up after the attacks.” Did Hillary Clinton Spike CBS’ Coverage Of Benghazi?
Hard to believe that this kind of stuff is actually happening in America. “Factor in the now infamous retracted Lara Logan report and Drumheller’s function at CBS News at the time, and the words “set up” start to come to mind.
It would be enlightening for the Benghazi Special Committee to subpoena Drumheller and start to get to the bottom of all this. Unfortunately, he is now departed, having died last year of cancer.
We may never get the truth about how the Benghazi story was manipulated, but the election prospects of Obama in 2012 and Hillary Clinton in 2016 are both profoundly impacted by the story. Read the Hemingway piece, and weep for our country.” The tangled web linking Sidney Blumenthal, CBS News, and a secret Clinton spy network starting to come to light
Oh what a tangled web and the media refuses to uncover it. “Earlier this summer, the House Benghazi committee grilled Blumenthal over his work with organizations with ties to the Clintons. Still, comparatively little is known publicly about Blumenthal, Drumheller and their “spy network” — a task that is further complicated by Drumheller’s death last month. To what extent they may have manipulated media coverage of the Benghazi scandal in order to obscure the truth and discredit critics of Clinton’s conduct as Secretary of State is unknown, but Drumheller’s role at CBS raises very disturbing questions, starting with how much Hillary Clinton herself knew about what Blumenthal and Drumheller were up to. Finally, CBS News owes viewers a full accounting of the questionable decision making process behind its Benghazi coverage and whether Drumheller may have been in a position to sway its coverage of this and other politically sensitive issues.” What Was a Member of Clinton’s ‘Secret Spy Network’ Doing While Working for CBS News?
We must figure out how to reach them! “A critical mass of women spend more time reading memoirs and novels than political tomes, more time cooking and cleaning than watching Fox News or CNN, more time gossiping with other women than watching sports on TV. Many of us chafe against the underlying leftist assumptions in the cultural products we consume, and the conversations with friends we find ourselves in, and we struggle to find a stance, a tone of voice, a role model, a spokesperson who represents us. We are, I think, a largely untapped market.” THE COUNTERREVOLUTIONARY LADIES’ AUXILIARY: What happens when a lady leaves the left?
Truer words have not been spoken. But when most of America is content being spoon fed Mainstream Media talking points, the lie will slow to be exposed. “The Planned Parenthood battle isn’t over, but it has proven one thing: Democrats are not the party of women. They are the party of abortion. There’s a big difference.” S.E. Cupp: The party of abortion, not women
Can someone please make this stop? Anyone? “If ever there was a shining example of the adage “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” it’s the internet. There is no reason for the U.S. to relinquish “control” of any part of the internet. In fact, it’s the lack of control of what goes on the net that has dictatorships and theocracies so concerned. And that total freedom is what has created the modern world while undermining the authority of the authoritarians.
Very slowly, the U.S. government is seeking to determine internet content. The new FCC rules on net neutrality could very well marginalize websites that express a particular political point of view. The feds swear that won’t be the case. But the temptation to do so will be great.
And what of international actors? Are we to place our freedom of expression in the hands of the likes of Putin’s Russia and Communist China? We’ve already agreed to transfer these internet functions so that even a new president would have a hard time reclaiming them.
One more unconscionable part of President Obama’s damaging legacy.” Question about whether Obama’s plan to ‘internationalize’ the internet is constitutional
Here’s a great overview of what Obama’s fecklessness at both home and abroad has wrought. “In sum, U.S. foreign policy has become something like Obamacare, immigration law, or the deficit. Obama stirs things up, speaks truth to power, champions the dispossessed, seems bewildered at the ensuing mess, then gradually disconnects from the growing chaos, but seems smug nonetheless over the fact that something — what exactly he doesn’t know or care — is at last in play. Forward we go to the next injustice, ripe for chaos and thus hope and change.” Obama’s Hope-and-Change Foreign Policy
This guy doesn’t mince words. “At the United Nations Obama hectors his adversaries and carries a microscopic stick. He is the un-Teddy Roosevelt. His adversaries have him sized up correctly for a patsy. Obama’s take on the international order, such as it is, is a left-wing fantasy. On the world stage he is a loser.” DOOMED TO FAILURE, CONT’D
In a sane world, Barry, and his entire band of thieves, would have been removed from power… But it won’t happen. Because most Americans are content to live with their heads in the sand. “As long as Obama is in power, things are likely to get worse for America.
By sacrificing sixty years of Pax Americana the Left has taking a wild, historic gamble. The Left hates the American ideal, and expects to benefit from Obama’s dictatorial shenanigans.
It’s a paradox that Vladimir Putin, who saw the Soviet model crumble, is now allied with the last powerful church in the world to become the rising new hegemon.
America got infiltrated and suckered. The new powers won’t be nice guys.” Russia is the New Hegemon
I keep trying to wake up from this nightmare, but it just won’t go away. “Messaging is how the political elites deal with Russia aggression, Chinese hacking, Syria, missing classified emails, dying ambassadors and human rivers of migrants. They speak to shadows in the dark, commanding them back oblivious to the tangible menaces close at hand. It is as if the Western world were trapped in an evil sleep. In that nightmare someone resembling Vladimir Putin is advancing upon a dreamer unable to move. And the dreamer won’t wake up. The worst of it is Putin knows we’re asleep while the newspapers insist that we’re awake.
Never fear: in morning the UN Army will save us.” Trapped in a Nightmare
You absolutely MUST click on the link to see the new army patch. “(Thomas Lifson adds: Don’t fail to notice that the red, white, and blue of American tradition have been replaced by green, the color of Islam.)
So let’s not get lost in the lies being peddled about the symbolism behind the swords or any other aspect of the design of this despicable new patch. We’re awake, and we know what it means. It is yet another act to undermine our military – and indeed our nation – by aligning the United States with the enemy as Obama sends signal after signal to the Muslim world that he stands with them and not with the United States.” That new U.S. Army patch with scimitars is downright creepy
Where is the congress? “So a couple of hundred men who went through terrorist military training – including, one supposes, the usual brainwashing – are comfortably ensconced in an American city near you. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn’t it?
In case you’re wondering, the Obama administration made a slight tweak ot our immigration law – apparently without the knowledge of Congress – that gave the DHS secretary broad discretionary authority to pretty much admit whomever he wants to. Obviously, Secretary Johnson thought America wasn’t diverse enough because we lacked Muslim terrorists in our population. He certainly fixed that shortcoming, didn’t he?” Administration allows in more than 1,500 asylum seekers who engaged in terrorism ‘while under duress’
We really do continue to be in the best of hands. “Why did the administration allow 1,519 people tied to terrorism to remain in the U.S. with all the rights and benefits enjoyed by legal residents? It did so because Obama’s DHS Secretary, Jeh Johnson, determined that the individuals in question participated in pro-terrorist activities “while under duress.”
But how can Johnson be sure of this? He wasn’t there, and neither was anyone from DHS. Naturally, the individuals seeking asylum and residency claim to have supported terrorism only under duress. But it’s unlikely that such claims are corroborated by trustworthy witnesses.
DHS says it compares applicants’ names and fingerprints against terrorist watch lists. But the absence of an applicant’s name from these lists doesn’t prove that his past support for terrorists was the result of duress.” OBAMA ADMINISTRATION ADMITTED 1,519 FOREIGNERS WITH TERRORIST TIES INTO THE U.S.
